Abstract

Neuropati diabetik merupakan komplikasi mikrovaskuler yang paling sering terjadi pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 (DMT2), diperkirakan sebagian dari penderita DMT2 mengalami komplikasi neuropati. Neuropati diabetik (ND) didefinisikan sebagai terjadinya kerusakan saraf paling sering terjadi pada bagian distal tubuh serta penyebab morbiditas yang cukup besar dan penyebab peningkatan mortalitas. Penyebab paling umum terjadinya neuropati diabetik yaitu lama menderita diabetes, studi menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi ND adalah 8% pada pasien DM yang baru terdiagnosis dan lebih tinggi ditemukan pada pasien yang sudah lama menderita DM yaitu 50%. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan lama mengalami diabetes melitus terhadap kejadian neuropati diabetik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional, dengan tekhnik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 80 responden. Hasil analisis menggunakan uji Chi-square didapatkan p-value 0,000 yang artinya terdapat hubungan lama mengalami DMT2 dengan kejadian neuropati diabetik. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkah bahwa DMT2 merupakan faktor penyebab neuropati diabetik pada pasien DMT2.
