Abstract

This study examines the institutional challenges faced by Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions in increasing parental involvement. Parental engagement plays a critical role in supporting children’s development, yet in many communities participation remains low due to limited awareness, lack of time, and weak communication between families and PAUD institutions. This article aims to analyze the importance of parental involvement, identify barriers experienced by PAUD institutions, and describe effective strategies to increase collaboration with families. The study uses a literature review method by analyzing books, journal articles, official reports, and relevant research published between 2019 and 2024. Findings show that parental involvement significantly influences children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and moral development. However, PAUD institutions face challenges such as low parental understanding of PAUD programs, financial and time constraints, and limited institutional capacity in implementing effective communication strategies. This study implies that stronger collaboration among PAUD institutions, families, and policymakers is essential in improving the quality of early childhood education services.
